Story

Hi, I'm Ben Cannon.

On 16 September, I'll be climbing Brisbane's iconic Story Bridge as one of The First 56 taking part in the inaugural Climb Against Crime.

When Voice for Victims Foundation organised The First 56, I didn't hesitate. This will be a significant day that we hope raises the awareness of the VFV Foundation and the 16th of September is National Victims of Crime Day that we wish to make a date to remember for all victims of crime nationally.

Crime can affect anyone, at any time. While we all hope for safer communities, the reality is that crime will still occur. When it does, victims deserve compassion, practical assistance and someone to walk beside them as they recover.

That's why I'm taking on this challenge and having been personally effected by violent crime I understand too well what the journey of recovery and the need for support that is necessary for those who crime affects.

I've committed to raising at least $500 to help Voice for Victims Foundation continue providing free, confidential, trauma-informed support to victims of crime across Queensland.

If you're able to support my climb with a donation, I'd be incredibly grateful.

Together, we can stand against crime, stand with victims and help ensure no one has to face recovery alone.

Thank you for your support.
